5 things your workwear/tunic should be able to do

Are you fed up with your workwear?
The tunic is tight and pinches everywhere. The pants are so long that you trip over them.
Then you're not alone!
Thousands of medical professionals report poor options when it comes to their workwear.
An essential component that helps protect them.
Ensures that the necessary utensils can be carried along ready for use.
But still
This must change!
Here are 5 requirements for tunics that every good piece of workwear should meet.
  1. The tunic doesn't fit like a sack

Far too often, the right size is difficult or impossible to find.
This leads to a suboptimal size being chosen in most cases. Either significantly too large, so you drown in the clothing, the pants slip down, and you risk tripping.
Or clearly too small. So much so that you already have a legitimate fear the smock would soon split open across the back.
This is often because unisex sizes are used. The advantage is clear: it's cheaper and simpler.
But you shouldn't be surprised if the employees complain every day.
Smocks that use different cuts for women and men provide a simple solution. This ensures that the requirements of different body types are taken into account.
This way it doesn't add bulk at the hips for women, and it doesn't squeeze the biceps for men.
  1. The smock does not cause sweating or odors.

There is almost nothing that makes me run home faster than a sweaty, smelly scrub top.
On long, stressful days that we often face, it's essential to have workwear that can withstand the strain.
This includes breathable material. That makes hectic and especially warmer days much more comfortable.
Unfortunately, many manufacturers still stick with outdated cotton, which does absorb sweat well but doesn't prevent us from sweating in the first place.
And if we're honest, we don't really want to soak up sweat either. We just want to avoid it.
With breathable material, odor formation is also significantly reduced. So you no longer have to walk past colleagues and patients feeling ashamed because you smell a little.
  1. The smock is lightweight and comfortable to wear

Building on points 1 and 2, it's important that workwear remains comfortable and pleasant to wear even after hours on the job. Almost like a second skin. You hardly notice it. Utter lightness. It helps to choose smocks that stay cuddly-soft even after multiple washes. They neither fray nor become stiff. If you find such workwear, cherish it like the apple of your eye. It makes the working day much easier.
  1. The scrub top lets us keep all the essential tools on hand.

The functionality of our workwear should not be overlooked.
I've often experienced that the trousers have no pockets. Not a single one. Or that the tunic was equipped with only a single, oddly placed pocket.
But in order to be able to complete our work quickly and efficiently, it is important that certain items and tools can be carried along. So that they are ready for use immediately. That makes the work much easier.
For me, it's therefore always important that the pants and smocks have enough pockets.
That way I can take a wide range of accessories with me.
  1. The tunic has a reasonable price

With all these requirements and benefits, it's quite possible that brands will charge a hefty amount to let you enjoy the comfort.
This is usually due to an outdated mindset and production problems.
Nowadays, you can get a decent product even for less money.
The value for money simply has to be right.
